Discover NanoEYE
Are you an early years educator? Discover a new way to teach and explore science through the exciting world of nanoscience.
The NanoEYE project is here.
“NANO EYE: Immersion in nanoscience for education in the early years” is a project financed by the Erasmus+ program and is coordinated by ESCIENCIA (Spain) and presented in collaboration with Fondazione Castello di Padernello (Italy), The Festival of Curiosity (Ireland), INMA – Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón (Spain) and ISD -The International School of Dublin (Ireland).
The NanoEYE project partners are working together to develop a high-quality set of tools and resources especially for teachers to explore, discover and promote the use of innovative and creative methods to teach nanoscience in early years education.
Resources include:
- curricular materials (3 workbooks and a Didactic Guide already available on our website);
- a set of video training modules for teachers;
- a best practice manual (coming soon).
Expect ideas for fun activities that allow young children to learn science in the process.

Do you know us?
NANO EYE is an educative project that aims to provide Early Childhood Education teachers (formal and informal) with a set of tools that can be used intuitively to teach nanoscience to children from 0 to 5 years old, such as puppet shows and other early education resources.
“NANO EYE: Immersion in nanoscience for education in the early years” is funded by the Erasmus+ program under the call “Partnerships for Cooperation in School Education”, coordinated by ESCIENCIA (Spain) and presented in collaboration with Fundación di Castello di Padernello (Italy), The Festival of Curiosity (Ireland), INMA (Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón) (Spain) and ISD (The International School of Dublin-Ireland).

Today we want to let you know our first results, which are already available on the website.
These are several tools that complete the training action for teachers. In it, you will find the following resources:
- A training action for teachers oriented to the teaching of knowledge in nanotechnology and nano-materials and their application to the real world.
- A didactic guide on methodologies for teaching science in early childhood education.
- A document with different examples of games and dynamic activities based on theatrical teaching in early childhood.
- Experimental workshop on nanotechnology.
- Experimental workshop based on scientific demonstrations carried out with a theatrical puppet show.

Tips on how to engage children in science from a young age
- Start young
Children are naturally curious from a young age. They observe the world around them with wonder. Use this curiosity to engage them with science. - Go out
Science is all around us, particularly in nature. The change of seasons, gravity, water, they are all elements ready to observe and analyse when outdoors. - Make it playful
Dress up like scientists, bring magnifying glasses and tools that are helpful and also fun. - Listen
Take their questions seriously, look for answers together, whether it’s observing, experimenting or doing further research. Use your child’s interest to guide the investigations. - Use scientific terms
Take everyday situations as opportunities to talk about scientific concepts and introduce the vocabulary to them. If children can say words like Diplodocus and Triceratops, we shouldn’t be afraid of using “big words” such as gravity, inertia and acceleration.

Unveiling a Multilingual Toolkit
Explore all the project resources now available on the Project Results page. From activity sheets of experimental workshops to didactic sheets, explanatory videos, and a good practice guide, you will discover a comprehensive set of tools tailored for early years education (formal and informal) in nanoscience for children aged 0-5.
All of these tools are available in the three languages of the project.
Multiplier Events
It was lovely meeting some of you on the multiplier events organised in the three participating countries. Listening to your feedback and sharing our experiences in person was invaluable milestone.
